From the Cibiana Pass(1.536 m), [crossed by the state road 437 that connects Valle del Boite  and Val di Zoldo ], up along the unmade road winding around seven scenic bends, covering a distance of seven kilometres and leading to the Dolomites mountain hut and Messner Mountain Museum. The route can be travelled on foot (2 hours) or by mountain bike.

For those who climb on by foot is possible to follow the road only to the first bend and here take the path n. 479 “Col d'Orlando” that gently climb in the woods until you reach the saddle Deona, here you find the last bend of the road, which you follow to the mountain hut (2 hours). This path is shorter and less monotonous than the military road, also, in summer season, allows you to avoid the comings and goings of the shuttles and the dust that they generally raise.


From Cibiana Pass (1.536 m) walking along the path n. 494 to Val Inferna (recommended):

from parking lots at the Pass you go down about a kilometre on the tarmac road in the direction of  Forno di Zoldo until you meet and then follow the signs for  the path 494 (loc. “4 tabià”), which rises along the left orographic side of the Val Inferna up to the fork of the same name (1.735 m.), from here you join the path 478 leading the Dèona saddle (2.053 m) and comes out on the roadway that leads to the Dolomites Mountain Hut (2 ½ hours).


From the Rifugio Talamini (1.582 m.), reached along the partially paved road that connects Zoppè di Cadore  and Vodo di Cadore, walk along path n. 494 that leads through the woods  to  Val Inferna saddle (1.735 m.), here you follow path 478 that climbs up to the  Dèona saddle (2.053 m) and comes out on the roadway that leads to the Dolomites Refuge (2 ½ hours).
